Guides

How do I extract singing from an MP4 video on my phone?

Choose a video and listen to the vocals alone. Download the singing as audio for an acapella. Preview free in your phone browser.

Questions

Will the backing vocals stay in the acapella?

Yes. Backing vocals and harmonies are part of the vocals, so they stay with the lead.

Why can I hear a little of the instruments?

Separation works on the sound itself, so a trace of the other part can remain where they overlap, such as reverb on a voice or a backing vocal close to the lead. A lossless source gives the cleanest result.

What file formats and lengths work?

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, MP4, MOV and WebM all work, depending on your browser. With a plan, recordings can be up to 3 hours: anything longer than 20 minutes is done in parts and joined back together. You download WAV, MP3 or, for a video, the video with its new sound.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows, with nothing to install.

Is it free?

Yes, to try. Without an account you hear the first minute of any file and can download it as an MP3. A plan does whole files and downloads them in studio quality, from US$6 a month, with the first month at US$1 for new customers.
