Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Short version: when you process a video, the picture stays on your device. Only its audio is uploaded, used to make your result, and then deleted automatically.

Your files

Video: the picture is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.

Audio: your browser uploads the audio (for a preview, only its first minute). We use it only to create your result. Uploaded audio and results are temporary: they are set to be deleted automatically about one hour after your result is ready. With Pro, your files go into your library instead, with their file names, so you can download them again: each stays for 30 days (your 25 most recent), and you can delete any of them sooner.

We don't use your files to train models and we don't sell them.

Storage on your device

Your browser may save your chosen file, its upload and processing details so you can continue after closing the tab. Recovery is offered for up to three days. Your browser may refuse or clear this storage. You can remove it by clearing site data; this does not cancel your purchase. Your plan's access credential is stored separately on your device.

What we keep

Separately from your temporary audio, we keep a small amount of information for as long as we need it to run the service and meet our obligations:

Daily allowance

We use a random browser ID, your network's IP address and a device signature to apply daily allowance limits and prevent abuse of them. The device signature is a one-way hash your browser computes from technical characteristics such as screen size, graphics hardware, time zone and how it draws a test image; the raw characteristics never leave your device. We also check whether your IP address belongs to a VPN, datacenter or Apple iCloud Private Relay network, using public lists, so allowances can't be multiplied by switching networks. Our allowance records store daily counts under identifiers hashed with a key that is replaced every day, and the weekly count of complete files under identifiers hashed with a key that is replaced every week, never raw IP addresses or signatures, so they can't be linked across weeks. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC and the weekly file on Monday at midnight UTC. Your browser also replaces its random ID each day. None of this is used for advertising or analytics.

Introductory prices are one per person. To apply that, we keep one-way codes (hashes) made from the card, email addresses, cardholder name and card country used for a purchase, from your device signature, and from the plans your browser has held; your browser keeps a list of those plans for this. The codes can't be turned back into your details, and we use them only to decide whether an introductory price applies and whether a referral earns a credit. A subscriber's invite code is linked to the subscriptions it brought, so we can credit them.

Besides sign-in codes, we may send you two kinds of email: one reminder if a checkout you started while signed in expires unpaid, and one reminder before a Day Pass's introductory Pro price ends. Each has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them for good; for that we keep only a one-way code of your address.

Service providers

These providers process data to deliver their services and may also retain information for purposes explained in their own privacy policies, such as security or legal obligations. Their technical logs may include IP addresses.

We don't use advertising cookies and we don't sell personal data.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits and website performance. Its browser script sends page-view and performance measurements to Cloudflare. It does not use cookies or local storage to track visitors, and we do not send your uploaded audio or payment details to it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

We also record basic tool outcomes on our own service: files selected or refused, processing results, playback starts, visible offers, checkout creation, verified purchases and refunds, and export or download requests. A random identifier links the steps for one file or checkout, including retries and recovery. We record the tool, language, broad screen-size category and a limited source label, such as search or one of our launch links. We do not keep full referring URLs in these outcome records.

These outcome records do not contain your recording, filename, transcript, email address, IP address, payment details or access credentials. Identifiers and individual records in our outcome store are removed within 30 days; aggregate counts may remain. The file's identifier may be kept alongside its browser recovery record while you finish it. If you begin checkout, we also attach this identifier and the same limited labels to the payment provider's purchase record; those records follow the provider's purchase-record retention. Measurement failures do not prevent processing or payment, and a recorded download request does not tell us whether the file was saved on your device.

We also record the steps of each visit: the pages you open, how far you scroll, which of our buttons and controls you use, when playback starts and stops, what the tool shows (such as a result, an error or plan prices) and when you leave. A random identifier, kept in your browser only until you close the tab or after 30 minutes without activity, links these steps. We record your time zone, broad screen-size category and browser and operating-system type with them. These records never include what you type, your files or their names, and they are removed within 30 days.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or delete the information we hold about you, including your account, by emailing us. Uploaded audio is deleted automatically.

Children

The service isn't directed at children under 13.
