Put your product on white
and download a clean PNG.

Choose your product photo in the background remover, turn on White background, and download the PNG. Use Square if you also want the product centred in a square image.

Start with a sharp photo that shows the whole item. Good light and a clear outline give you a better starting point than a blurry picture or an object partly hidden by another item. The result still comes from your original photo, so choose the angle and framing that show the product accurately.

Remove the old background and add white

  1. Choose the image. Select Choose an image and open the product photo. The page lists JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC as supported examples.
  2. Inspect the cutout. When processing finishes, look at the item's outline. Pay particular attention to handles, straps, fine fabric, fur and any small gaps between parts of the product.
  3. Turn on White background. The preview changes to show the cutout against white. This setting is applied to the downloaded PNG, so it becomes part of the finished image.
  4. Use Square if you want square framing. The tool centres the detected subject with space around it. Check that the product still looks complete and that important details have not disappeared into the white.
  5. Choose the download you need. Select Download HD for the full-resolution image; when it is ready, the button reads Download PNG.

White background and transparency are different

A transparent PNG has no opaque background behind the product. A white-background PNG has white pixels behind it. Both files can use the PNG format, so the filename extension alone does not tell you which version you saved.

Keep White background on for a finished image on white. Turn it off when you need a transparent cutout to place over a design in another editor. Open the downloaded file and confirm the chosen version before adding it to your listing.

Check small details at the size people will see

First look closely at the edges, then view the image at the size it will appear in your shop. Thin cords, pale edges, reflective surfaces and transparent materials can be difficult to separate from a background. Make sure the shape and colour of the product still read clearly.

If a small part is missing or an unwanted patch remains, try a clearer source image with more separation between the item and its background. Keep the original photo so you can choose another version without repeating edits on an already processed image.

Choose square framing for the layout you need

The Square option creates square framing around the detected subject. It does not require you to crop the original manually first. Leave it off when you want to keep the image's existing proportions.

For a consistent catalogue, compare the finished images side by side. Similar product scale, camera angle and lighting help a group of photos look coherent; changing the background alone does not standardise those choices.

Prepare the final file for your listing

Use a clear filename that identifies the product and view. Check the saved image's dimensions against the destination's current requirements before uploading it. A white square PNG can be a useful starting point, but the background remover does not validate a marketplace's listing rules or resize to a particular store template.
